Home Gyms
Indoor Home Courts
In 2011 we visited a court and gym builder in the upper Mid-West and were amazed by how many indoor home basketball courts they had built. We returned to Utah and were convinced that many local homeowners would see the advantage of a court that could be played on year-round. We began working with several high-end home builders and presented them with the idea. Today, we build nearly as many indoor residential courts as backyard courts every year!
Experience & Reviews
Over the past decade we played a major role in popularizing the indoor home courts in Utah! We took the 3 generations of experience of building backyard courts and implemented this into building indoor basketball & pickleball courts that can be utilized year round. To date, we have designed and installed more than 250 indoor home gyms!
Location
The primary locations for a residential indoor halfcourt or pickleball court are:
Under the garage (16’ – 23’ ceilings, often same footprint as garage)
Above ground, attached to home
Backyard structure
Under the Garage
For construction of a new home the most common location of an indoor gamecourt is under the garage, often with the exact same footprint as the garage. This is accomplished by excavating an additional 16’ – 23’ and utilizing concrete foundation walls. The garage floor is then a suspended slab above the home gym!
Contact UsAbove Ground Structure
The second most common location for indoor home gyms is an above ground space that is incorporated into the home. This increases the overall footprint of the home but often creates a more stunning space with natural sunlight.
Contact UsBackyard Structure
The other common location for a residential indoor gym is a backyard structure! We have built some incredible professional caliber sports facilities for private residences in this manner. These are often pole barn type structures with a concrete slab. For larger gyms such as fullcourt basketball, regulation volleyball, or regulation tennis these backyard structures are the most feasible option.
Contact UsGarage Gym
Often the easiest home gym solution is to utilize an existing or additional garage! If cars will be parked in the area we utilize our “outdoor” surfacing which allows drainage and can easily be cleaned. If the garage is gym specific (no cars) we can incorporate our traditional indoor (solid top, non-draining) gym surfaces. Either way we can help transform your garage into the favorite and most well utilized area of the home!
Contact UsSports
The majority of indoor home gyms range from roughly 25’ x 35’ (footprint of a 3 car garage) to 30’ x 60’ (halfcourt basketball, regulation pickleball). When a backyard structure is utilized we are able to incorporate fullcourt basketball (60’ x 90’) and/or regulation tennis (60’ x 120’)

Surfaces
We are the exclusive distributor for SnapSports athletic surfaces which offer the premium indoor modular sports surfaces in the industry. The SnapSports synthetic maple surfaces are the most popular for home gyms for several reasons. First, SnapSports maple offers the performance and cushioning of a traditional suspended hardwood surface at a fraction of the cost. Second, these surfaces are impervious to water and are far more durable than traditional maple. If the gym floods or if a scooter puts a dent in a tile, no problem! Each individual panel can be replaced without removing any others. We’ve also had entire gyms flood and the surface was not damaged!
Hoops
We offer several indoor basketball hoop options with an adjustable wall-mounted option being most popular. Depending on the layout of the gym we also may incorporate an in-ground adjustable hoop or commercial grade ceiling or wall mounted system.
Contact UsNets
In addition, we also offer wall mounted adjustable game nets (used for pickleball, badminton, & basketball) or portable pickleball nets.
Contact UsWalls
We often utilize a commercial grade wall carpet to finish off the gym walls, particularly when the walls remain concrete and are left un-framed. This finishes off the walls and allows for some slight cushioning and noise reduction.
For a more customized option we have also worked with several of the premier artists in the region to create custom murals on the gym walls!
Lastly, we also offer wall padding for under the hoop, any corners of the gym, or any other areas that present a potential hazard.
Contact UsConstruction Process
We enjoy working in conjunction with homeowner and builder to ensure the gym is the favorite part of the house and most seamless part of the build! The earlier we are involved the better as wall bracing is often required for our wall mounted hoops and/or wall mounted nets. Once we are on-site, the typical gym installation is completed within 2 – 3 days!
Maintenance
The primary advantage of a SnapSports modular surface (over traditional hardwood or other gym surfaces) is the durability, repairability, and minimal maintenance requirements. All SnapSports surfaces are manufactured in Salt Lake City, UT and offer a 16 year limited warranty. The maintenance requirements include a dust broom and occasional wet mop or auto-scrubber (no waxes or re-finishes required). Lastly, if any one tile or section of tiles are damaged they can be removed and replaced without removing any other tiles!
