Backyard Courts

Home courts are in our DNA! Our founder’s grandfather (Dan Kotler) started Sport Court in 1973 and invented modular sport tiles which began popularizing backyard courts! “We stand on the shoulders of giants” and take pride in continuing the family legacy.

We now design and build more backyard courts than any SnapSports distributor in the country. We specialize in a turn-key service where we customize each court based on space, sports, & budget. We then pour the concrete slab and set all required anchors. Lastly, we install the sports surfacing, hoops, lights, & netting to bring the court to life. This process is completed on average with no more than 2 – 5 days on-site!

Space, Sports & Budget

All of our courts are customized based on these three factors. The majority of the backyard courts we build range from 20’ x 25’ (halfcourt basketball) up to 60’ x 120’ (regulation tennis). The most common layout is a 30’ x 60’ which is utilized for halfcourt basketball and regulation pickleball.

CUSTOMIZATION

The primary appeal of a backyard multi-court is the true versatility and usability for all ages. Once we have established the desired sports we create renderings to illustrate potential layouts and sizing. The end result is a completely custom gamecourt that can be enjoyed by the entire family. SURFACES & COMPONENTS

We are the exclusive distributor for SnapSports athletic surfaces, which is manufactured here in Salt Lake City, UT! SnapSports is the premier modular sports surface in the industry and is ideal for multi-sport applications due to the cushioning provided. SnapSports surfaces also have a 16 year limited warranty and require little to no maintenance (leaf blower & pressure washer!) We have a couple showcase courts at the manufacturing facility (2330 W California Ave) where your family can test out our different surfaces, hoops, lighting, rebounders, and ball containment netting.

In addition to SnapSports, we also offer acrylic surfacing for competitive pickleball or tennis courts. Although acrylic requires more maintenance and upkeep than the tile systems (SnapSports), it is the current standard for tournament pickleball.

CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

We take great pride in simplifying the court construction process and making the court your easiest home project! This is accomplished in two steps – pouring the concrete slab & then installing the court finishes.

To begin, our first-rate concrete crew arrives to frame and pour the court slab, which takes 1 – 2 days for an average court. We then return with our world class installation crew to install the sports surfacing and components (hoops, lights, fencing, etc) which takes an additional 1 – 3 days. Overall, our standard time on-site is 2 – 5 days!

MAINTENANCE

One great advantage of a backyard court is the elimination or reduction of yard work & water bills! Once the court is in place the only required maintenance is a leaf blower or pressure washer. The SnapSports surfacing has a 16 year limited warranty and the acrylic surfacing requires re-surfacing every 3 – 5 years on average.

If preferred we also offer an annual service plan where we remove all debris from the court and do a service check on all components!
